Eine der Ideen die beim letzten WikiWednesday entstanden sind, ist es die Coworking-Week zu nutzen um am 15.9 den nächsten WikiWednesday Stuttgart (wieder im Coworking Space Stuttgart) zu organisieren. Die thematische  ”Verwandschaft” ist ja gegeben, stellt sich noch a) die Frage welche spannenden thematischen Schwerpunkte wir in der Überlappung diskutieren wollen und b) ob sich überhaupt eine Mehrheit für diesen Termin findet? Für a) sind Ideen und kreative Vorschläge gefragt, entweder hier oder (noch) in der Koordinationswave – dort kann auch der Terminvorschlag weiter besprochen und dann koordiniert werden.

Wie immer – rechtzeitige Ankündigungen machen Sinn. Und zumindest eine davon ist “in time”.

Zuerst aber das zeitlich nächste und leider auch äußerst kurzfristige: an diesem Wochenende ist das erste BarCamp in diesem Jahr, das BarCamp Nürnberg. Wie immer gibt es die bewährte Aufteilung zwischen alten Hasen und Neulingen, auf die ich mich übrigens genauso freue wie auf die Treffen mit alten Bekannten. Zusammen wird sicher wieder viel gearbeitet, auch am Feierabend 2.0 – den sogenannten Nightsessions.

Falk notierte hier bereits einige der Themenvorschläge mit den meisten Interessenten, mittlerweile haben sich ein paar neue Schwerpunkte ergeben (und ich denke dass Buzz ein weiteres großes Thema sein wird). Die aktuelle Hitliste:

• PM 2.0 – Wissensorientiertes Projektmanagement
• Onlineshop gründen und betreiben – die häufigsten Fehler
• Enterprise 2.0 – neue Arbeits- und Organisationsformen
• Scrum
• Co-working – Eine neue Form der Büroarbeit
• Drupal für Einsteiger/Fortgeschrittene
• Web Tools im Business Einsatz
• Die Todsünden der Selbständigkeit

Manches davon finde ich persönlich ja auch hochspannend, ich bin gespannt was an Ergebnissen herauskommt.

Hier nun – und locker über den obigen Link zum Feierabend 2.0 verknüpft – kommt die Verbindung zur zweiten Ankündigung ins Spiel – dem Lotus JamCamp am 23./24. April in Stuttgart/ Ehningen (kurzer und selbstverständlicher Disclosure: ich unterstütze das Lotus Team bei der Organisation und Konzeptionierung der Veranstaltung).

Das LJC ist ein Open Space / BarCamp rund um die Themen Smarter Work, Collaboration und Enterprise 2.0, das eine starke Online-Komponente in Form eines Open Innovation IdeaJams hat. Es ist also mehr als eine konventionelle Veranstaltung sondern hat mehrere Elemente:

• Online Jam – online Diskussion, die rund um die Uhr läuft und wo relevante Fragen diskutiert werden
• eine klassische Veranstaltung auf dem IBM Campus in Ehningen mit Keyote-Sprechern (wie bspw. Nicole) und Impuls-Vorträgen
• die “klassischen” Elemente werden mit Open Space/BarCamp-Charakteristika kombiniert, bspw. weil Teilnehmer aktiv sein sollen und sind und bspw. die Themen auswählen, die sie diskutieren wollen bzw. selbst Themen vorschlagen.
• Teilnehmer und Stakeholder sind aktiv und sprechen miteinander – und jeder ist eingeladen an der Lotus JamCamp Community teilzunehmen, Ideen für Sessions einzureichen etc.

Natürlich ist Project Vulcan zuallererst einmal eine Vision, ein Blueprint, eine Roadmap – aber OK, ohne Visionen und Pläne ist ja alles nichts … im Ernst, die Integration verschiedener Technologien und Clients auf Basis offener Standards wird ja nachgefragt – zum einen weil die Geschäftsanforderungen eben genau das fordern (übergreifende Kopplung und Abstimmung von Anwendungssystemen und Geschäftsprozessen, Einbau von kollaborativen Funktionalitäten an geeigneten Stellen), zum anderen weil die Cloud bzw. das Aufkommen neuer Endgeräte (Smartphones, Blackberrys, iPads …) miteinander verbundene Plattformen fördern: “[...] blend collaboration, social, and business applications into a useful, productive experience, and to deliver it in Lotus Notes, a browser, and mobile devices”, wie Chris Reckling hier kommentiert).

Project Vulcan wird so sicher auch auf dem kommenden Lotus JamCamp diskutiert, das heute offiziell angekündigt wurde:

Auf dem JamCamp diskutieren Vertreter aus Unternehmen und Verwaltung, Digital Natives, Studenten und Professoren sowie Business Partner und IBM Mitarbeiter, wie Web 2.0 Technologien, Cloud Computing, Enterprise 2.0 oder Open Source den Arbeitsplatz von heute und morgen beeinflussen und verändern:

- Wie sieht der innovative Arbeitsplatz der Zukunft aus?
- Was heißt Enterprise 2.0 aus Unternehmenssicht und aus Sicht der jungen Generation?
- Wie bette ich Social Media-Tools wie Wikis, Blogs, soziale Netze, etc. organisatorisch im Unternehmen ein?
- Wie sehen Erwartungen, aber auch Anforderungen der Digital Natives aus, wenn sie in die Berufswelt einsteigen?

Ja, ich wusste davon schon etwas früher – der Grund dafür ist dass ich das Team um Stefan Pfeiffer bei der Organisation des Events unterstütze. Das hier nur als erster Disclaimer und zur Offenlegung der Beziehungen, ähnliches habe ich ja bereits zur Lotusphere geschrieben.

Ich werde daher in den kommenden Wochen noch den einen oder anderen ausführlicheren Beitrag zum Lotus JamCamp schreiben – heute will ich nur meine Freude ausdrücken dass sowohl Nicole Simon als auch Jörg Kantel mit Impulsvorträgen dabei sein werden. Mit Nicole habe ich das bereits bei der LeWeb besprochen, mit Jörg erst diese Tage – und es ist sehr schön dass die beiden an Bord des #LJC sind.

These Open Spaces combine and bring together the people of track 1 and 2, ie. those that focussed on the strategic implications of Enterprise 2.0 and those that were looking for hints, lifehacks and experiences in the “Best Practices” track.

But before we’re venturing into the discussion space there are three more talks and panels on the slate, I am sticking to track 1 again, just like yesterday:

08:30 – 09:25 Discussion: Organizational Schemes for the Enterprise 2.0

The assumptions are sweeping – the next generation of co-workers that grew up with social tools will want a “social environment of work that reflect(s) the social context of the Web” (Gary Hamel). Social and enterprise experts will discuss the controversial question of how future work places will be organized.

Then, the first open space is set to start, with the goal of collectiong issues and recommendations of the participants re: Enterprise 2.0. It’s called a “Market of Ideas” on how to proceed with the initiation, implementation and adoption of Enterprise 2.0 projects. Let’s see how that works out, we’ll have time to reflect this first round at Lunch I guess.

In the afternoon, there will be two more open spaces:

13:00 – 14:30 Open-Space: Enabling Enterprise 2.0 – Roundtable discussions (ie. we will work in small groups)
and
15:00 – 16:00 Open-Space: Enabling Enterprise 2.0 – Presentation of Results (ie. we all will need to track down a designated presenter)

Shouldn’t be too hard, I assume that we’ll develop some cool ideas this afternoon, definitely looking forward to the discussion open space ..

Well, I’m in the track that’s collecting thoughts and ideas on management involvement in Enterprise 2.0 (well, how to convince your CxO). I am feeling a bit awkward as I don’t want to spoil the emerging ideas of the group with my views …

Well, anyway – some collected thoughts by the group, alas, these are only quick and brief notes:

Quick wins (or how to win management sponsorship quickly): We’fre not alone, there are cases, people in the know, consultants (hint …), it’s about time to act now and one of the best: arguing with usages for existing and pressing problems

Challenges (or what gets into the ways of our ambitions with Enterprise 2.0): fear in all flavours, seen (and dreaded) need to change management’s understanding and role – we don’t want to change and we fear democracy and transparency

Supporting lines (or the surefire ways to convince your CEO): Return on Investment (both in terms of more turnover and/or reduced costs), CxOs must act as role models, innovation and knowledge management benefits, competitive advantages, leveraging the distributed potentials of all our employees, …

The other groups tackled issues like e.g.

• technology – no need to talk about this, all things Open-Source vs. Closed-Source et al.
• implementation (well, rather early stages of getting Enterprise 2.0 out there)
• motivation – or how to get employees to use these systems?
• integration – how can be fit it into existing infrastructure (of any kind)
• role of IT
• role of moderation in Enterprise 2.0 (well, turned out that they dealt with nifty details of organizational culture in the context of E 2.0 at last, plus a collection of sensible roles and personas to have in E 2.0 projects)
